Ac­cor­ding to CHE, the de­part­ment of pro­duc­tion en­gi­nee­ring in Bremen be­longs to the best na­tion­wide. The bime is part of this de­part­ment wor­king in the fields of lo­gi­stics and struc­tural me­cha­nics, fo­cu­sing on frac­ture me­cha­nics, ma­te­rial me­cha­nics, da­mage me­cha­nics as well as load bea­ring struc­tures.

Ano­ther ope­ra­tion area is con­cerned with cut­ting and for­ming ma­chine tools and their mo­dules and/or com­ponents both wi­thin con­struc­tive re­gard as func­tional co­ope­ra­tion.
