Automation technology: Germany’s best researchers found new scientific society – University of Bremen participates

Under their motto “Together we are strong” Germany’s leading researchers in the area of automation technology connected themselves. Among them is Kirsten Tracht, Professor for “Production Design and Management” in the department of production engineering at the University of Bremen. The new “Scientific Society for Assembly, Handling and Industrial Robotics” (MHI) aims to push forward research and education in this research area. The focus is put on the topics qualification, technology transfer and prospective technology studies in industrial robotics. For support the association for Robotics + Automation within the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) is also involved. The participating parties hope to establish an extensive networking of industry and science to initiate and realize new research projects.

Professor Kirsten Tracht, holding the Daimler endowed professorship for “Production Design and Management” at the University of Bremen since 2008, is currently the speaker of the Bremen Institute for Mechanical Engineering (bime). The research focus of the workgroup directed by her is the connection of technology, logistics and organization within industrial companies.
